Nigeria Machine Tools Limited is proud to announce that our Chief Operating Officer, Obehi Ojeaga, was honoured with the Woman of the Year Award at the inaugural West Africa Industrialisation, Manufacturing and Trade Summit and Exhibition 2026, held from 3rd to 5th March 2026 at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The West Africa IMT Summit is the largest convening of manufacturers, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders in West Africa, endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and attended by delegates from across the continent and beyond. To be recognised at a platform of this scale is a reflection not only of individual excellence but of the institutional commitment to people, performance, and purpose that NMT has built over 45 years.
The Woman of the Year Award acknowledges outstanding female leadership in Nigeria’s industrial and manufacturing sector. For Obehi Ojeaga, it is a recognition that speaks to a career defined by execution, transformation, and an unwillingness to accept the gap between what Nigeria’s industrial sector is and what it is capable of becoming.
As Chief Operating Officer of Nigeria Machine Tools Limited, Obehi has driven significant transformation across the company’s operations. Under her leadership, NMT secured Shell’s global Technically Accepted Manufacturers and Products certification, making NMT the first indigenous Nigerian manufacturer to achieve this milestone for critical oil and gas components. This achievement positioned the company as a credible original equipment manufacturer within global supply chains and enabled participation in landmark projects including NLNG Train 7, Shell’s Bonga FPSO, and TotalEnergies’ Ikike development.
Beyond corporate performance, Obehi serves as Vice Chair and the only female leader on the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board in-country manufacturing committee, where she contributes directly to shaping national strategies on OEM development, supply chain integration, and industrial self-sufficiency. Her approach has consistently emphasised execution, accountability, and measurable outcomes rather than policy rhetoric, earning her recognition as one of Nigeria’s most credible voices on industrial transformation.
She is also a passionate advocate for human capital development and inclusive growth, championing initiatives to expand technical training, develop graduate talent pipelines, and increase female participation in engineering and manufacturing, areas she believes are critical to building a resilient and sustainable industrial base for Nigeria and Africa.
At NMT, we have always believed that an organisation’s strength is inseparable from the strength of the people within it. This award affirms that belief and reminds us of why we continue to invest in leadership, in people, and in the kind of institutional excellence that earns recognition not through campaigns but through results.
We congratulate Obehi on this well-deserved honour and remain proud to have her at the helm of Nigeria Machine Tools’ operations.
