Nigeria Machine Tools and ZMZK Sign Equipment Services Agreement to Support Oil and Gas Processing Growth

Nigeria Machine Tools Limited (NMT) has entered into a strategic partnership with ZMZK for the supply and servicing of specialised oil and gas processing equipment, strengthening NMT’s position as a key player in Nigeria’s energy and industrial sector.

The agreement covers a comprehensive range of high-performance equipment critical to gas processing, separation, metering, thermal operations, and engineering services — marking a significant expansion of NMT’s product and service offerings.

What the Partnership Covers

Under the agreement, NMT will provide access to the following equipment and services through its partnership with ZMZK:

  1. Gas Turbine Services NMT and ZMZK will offer end-to-end gas turbine solutions covering design, construction, installation, and ongoing maintenance — ensuring reliable power generation and operational continuity for industrial and energy facilities.
  2. Pressure Vessels The partnership also extends to the design, fabrication, and supply of pressure vessels built to international standards — reinforcing NMT’s growing capability in delivering critical process equipment for the oil and gas industry.
  3. Valves Designed for frequent operation under demanding conditions, the valve range includes ball valves for main flow control, shut-off valves for adjustment and isolation, check valves to prevent backflow, and safety relief valves for overpressure protection. All valves comply with international explosion protection standards including API, ASME, ANSI, and GOST.
  4. Cold Separator Installed after refrigeration units in gas processing lines, the Cold Separator removes liquid hydrocarbons, water, and condensate from cooled natural gas using separation devices including plates, cyclonic elements, and drop traps — delivering cleaner, lighter gas for downstream processing.
  5. Demethanizer Column A core unit in cryogenic gas processing, the Demethanizer Column separates methane from heavier hydrocarbons including ethane, propane, and butanes. It maximises the recovery of valuable Natural Gas Liquids (NGL), reduces hydrocarbon losses, and ensures stable operation within the turbo expander cycle.
  6. Integrated Motor Control Center (IMCC) A unified control and protection complex combining a Process Control System and Emergency Shutdown System (PCS/ESD). The IMCC manages electric drives, monitors process parameters, automates operations via DCS/PLC, and executes emergency shutdowns to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment. It is applicable across gas processing plants, petrochemical complexes, and compressor stations.
  7. Custody Transfer Metering System (CTMS) A certified measurement and computing system for the accurate commercial accounting and transfer of ownership of natural gas, LPG, and condensate between suppliers and consumers. Designed in accordance with API, AGA, OIML, and ISO standards, the CTMS ensures precise volume, mass, and quality measurement across gas pipelines, terminals, and processing plants.
  8. Hot Oil System A closed thermal circuit delivering stable, high-temperature heating for fractionating columns and process equipment where steam is ineffective. Operating at temperatures up to 300°C using mineral or synthetic thermal oil, the system supports reboilers, heat exchangers, and continuous thermal process cycles.
